PaperTag is a media platform that highlights underground and unsigned artists. Our goal and purpose is to shine a bright light on those who deserve it the most and provide them with a platform to excel. By posting and writing on positive content only, we’ve created a safe space for artists to share their music without the pressures of society. Not only do we create a platform forartists, we’ve also created a platform for freelance journalists and music lovers to write about the topics and artists that they are most passionate about and love the most.
Though our purpose is to serve the music community, we also have an obligation to use our platform to spread awareness about the issues surrounding us. PaperTag is a black owned media platform and will always use our voice for the protection of black lives. The actions of now Former Officer David Chauvin was no accident, this was a cold blooded murder. Not only should he be held accountable for his actions, but his colleagues who stood and watched George Floyd beg for his life should be held accountable as well.
It is unacceptable for African Americans in The United States of America to have to continuously protest and become a trending hashtag due to the actions of police departments and the justice system. There are no excuses for murdering innocent Black children, men, and women. The Black community is tired, and this is proven through the protesting currently happening in Minnesota. Racism and discrimination has continuously been accepted and excused in this country and this WILL end today.
PaperTag will be donating funds to The Minnesota Freedom Fund whos mission is to fight back against Minnesota’s unjust bail system and paying immigrant bond.
